Assessments are multidisciplinary and follow national guidance.
There is no definitive test for ADHD and the clinical assessment is multi-dimensional considering the impact of difficulties across settings.
The Assessment Process
Following on from the initial consultation and observational session you will be invited for further formal ADHD assessment. Prior to your appointment you will be asked to complete the CAARS assessment (self-report and observer). You will be invited to attend a clinic to complete a DIVA (Diagnostic Interview of ADHD in Adults) observational interview which will take approximately 90 mins.
Following the completion of the assessment, you will be offered a short break whilst your clinicians prepares feedback. If this is your final appointment it will include a feedback session to discuss the outcome of your assessment. If you have further assessment appointments you will be given some preliminary feedback, however your full feedback will be provided following your final assessment appointment.
The clinicians will then share the outcome of the assessment and provide an opportunity for discussion. This feedback session usually lasts around 45 minutes to an hour. We are also available for follow up questions if required.

The outcome of the assessment may or may not confirm a diagnosis of ADHD. If a diagnosis is not confirmed, we will provide information about how we came to the decision and discuss other possible explanations for your profile

Add a QBcheck to your assessment
You may want to consider opting to include the QBcheck to enhance your assessment. In certain cases, your practitioner may advise this assessment if your situation is complex.
This may be necessary to determine if you should proceed with a full assessment and/or confirm if you meet the diagnostic criteria for ADHD.
